What We're Up To

Alpha - Explore The Meaning Of Life

We regularly run the Alpha Course - an opportunity to explore the meaning of life from a Christian perspective.

Alpha - what's it all about?

More than seven million people all over the world have completed the Alpha course during the last six years in churches, homes, schools, universities and prisons.

"Alpha makes Christianity relevant to modern life."
[The Express, London]

Alpha is a chance for anyone to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed setting over ten thought-provoking weekly sessions. It is a chance both to listen and ask questions. It is low-key, friendly and fun.

Who is Alpha for?

People try Alpha for a wide variety a reasons: to explore the meaning of life, or the Christian faith; to find out whether God really exists and if there is any point to life, or because they are struggling with life‘s big questions and want answers.

Others may have attended church on and off all their lives, but feel they have never really had the basics of the Christian faith explained.

Alpha is for anyone, and everyone is welcome.

When is Alpha?

Our next Alpha Course starts on Tuesday 5 October 2010. We would love you to join us and if you would like more information email alpha@st-gabriels.org

On each evening of the course itself, supper is served from 7:30pm followed by a short talk at 8pm. Follow this link to see a list of the talks. We then have coffee and biscuits in small discussion groups, which end at 9.45pm.

What will it cost?

The Alpha course is free.
