CHRISTMAS 2009 

Welcome to our Christmas page, where you can find out about the many exciting events happening at St Gabriel's during December.

Saturday 5 December, 7.30pm : ADVENT CAROLS BY CANDLELIGHT

An evening of carols, readings and poetry and classical music looking forward to the coming of Christ at Christmas.  Ali Kinder, who is a member of St Gabriel's, is a professional musician, and has drawn together a group of musician for this special evening.  All are welcome to this evening, and a festive glass of mulled wine will be servied at the end of the evening.

 

Sunday 20 December, 3pm  : ALL AGE CAROL SERVICE                  'This Little Light'

Our annual carol service, featuring special guest 'Bayleaf' the donkey.  Carols, readings and telling the Christmas story for all the family.  Our service is at a slightly earlier time this year, for the benefit of families with younger children.

Sunday 20 December, 6.30pm  : CONTEMPORARY CAROLS  'Christmas Unwrapped' 

An evening looking at the meaning of Christmas, sometimes hidden behind the trappings of materialism.  Readings, music, presentations and some well-known carols.  Join us for a glass of mulled wine at the end of the evening.

 

Thursday 24 December, 11.30pm  :  MIDNIGHT COMMUNION

Come together in worship and prayer to welcome the coming of Christ on Christmas eve.

 

Friday 25 December, 10.30am  : ALL AGE HOLY COMMUNION   

Sunday 27 December,                                                                                    9am, 10.30am and 6.30pm : Join us for our regular Sunday services

Thursday 31 December, 11pm  : WATCH NIGHT SERVICE                 

Join with others in worship, word and prayer as we give thanks for our freedom in Christ and seek to enter a new year in God's presence.
